New Year Party and Festival Koh Phangan 2012 – 2013

This year the party period kicks off on 25 December, on this date the Christmas Party will take place. The countdown festival starts the following day and goes on until the New Year Party on 31 December with daily activities and parties in Haad Rin. Resorts and beach bars organize activities like beach volleyball and soccer tournaments, bikini contests and concerts. At the Drop In Club there are foam and fire parties and clubs and bars organize special evenings as well. On 31 December the mega New Year Party kicks off, the venue looks amazing with all the lights, the thousands of dancing people and the amazing fireworks. Haad Rin

Most people visiting Koh Phangan for the New Year Party like to stay in the center of it all, Haad Rin town. Haad Rin has a limited number of accommodations and is an extremely popular destination in this period. Most resorts here are already fully booked several months before the New Year Party even starts so we strongly advise to book your accommodation as early as possible!

Ban Khai and Ban Thai

Just a short 10 minutes drive away from the New Year party area you’ll find the villages of Ban Khai and Ban Tai. After Haad Rin this area is the second popular place to stay during The New Year Party period, also here the resorts can be fully booked months before the party takes place so don’t hesitate to book if this is the area of your choice

Thong Sala

Thong Sala is Koh Phangan’s main town, here most travelers arrive as all boat services (except for the Haad Rin Queen) arrive here. Thong Sala is a lively town and only a 15 minutes drive away from the New Year Party area.

North West Koh Phangan

The North West of Koh Phangan is famous for the beautiful beaches and lush nature and is perfect to Combine the New Year Party experience with a tropical, quiet holiday. Getting to the New Year Party takes between 20 and 30 minutes and as taxies drive all night long it is very easy to travel to and from Haad Rin

North East Koh Phangan

The idyllic beaches of Thong Nai Pan Yai and Thong Nai Pan Noi are located on the secluded Northeast side of Koh Phangan, to reach the New Year Party from here you have to take a taxi through the hills of Koh Phangan which usually takes about 45 minutes.
