Koh Phangan Live Music Venues

Koh Phangan has a fast growing Live Music and Jam Sessions scene, the musicians that play at these venues are a mix of local people, long staying foreigners and tourists just passing by. Some artists are professional musicians and others just amateurs that love to play music. There are two major live music venues on Koh Phangan and a couple of smaller bars where you can enjoy Live Music evenings.

The Jam – Hin Kong Beach Koh Phangan

The Jam on the Hin Kong beach road just outside Thong Sala is the biggest venue for jam sessions and live music on Koh Phangan. Years ago the Jam started as a small place on the beach where musicians gathered on Saturday nights to play together. Nowadays the venue has grown and has a great stage, beach bar and all facilities for musicians and guests to have a wonderful evening.

On Saturday nights over a hundred people gather on the beach and enjoy the Live Music together. Everybody is welcome to play or sing and there are instruments available for those who travel without. The Jam is owned by Robert from Holland who does not only organize the venue but is a very skilled singer and musician as well and when you visit The Jam or The Sound you will surely see him perform. The Sound – Ban Tai Koh Phangan

The Sound in Ban Tai, on the main road next to the gasoline station, has recently opened its doors and is already a well known spot where musicians meet on a regular basis. Besides Live Music and Jam Sessions on Tuesday nights The Sound also provides 24 track recordings and professional equipment so musicians can make studio quality recordings here as well.

On the first floor there are five budget guest rooms which makes it the perfect place for bands who want to combine a tropical holiday with making high quality recordings or even an album. The owner of The Sound is Ak from Holland who plays bass guitar himself and has fast experience in recording and mixing. It is always worth to stop by when you are in Ban Tai as The Sound is open daily and besides the steady session on Tuesdays you might find musicians just jamming away on other days in the week as well! Omega Bar – Chaloklum Koh Phangan

The Omega Bar is situated in the fishing village of Chaloklum in the Northwest of Koh Phangan and organizes Jam Sessions on Wednesday evenings. The large garden bar is the perfect place for a night out with ever changing musicians that stop by and jam together.

Bangers & Mash – Thong Sala Koh Phangan

The Bangers & Mash Pub organizes live music sessions every Monday and Thursday evening. You can find this pub next to the Food Factory restaurant on the main road between Thong Sala and Ban Tai.

White Rabbit Bar – Ban Tai Koh Phangan

The White Rabbit Bar organizes open stage Jam Sessions on a regular basis and is located in Ban Tai just opposite the Hideout Bar. Besides Live Music they serve delicious food as well.
