Koh Tao Thailand
About fifty kilometers north of Koh Phangan you can find the tropical island of Koh Tao and the small neighboring island of Koh Nang Yuan. This area is well known for its excellent scuba diving locations and a very popular holiday destination in the Suratthani province. Koh Tao is just about twenty square kilometers in size, smaller than Koh Samui or Koh Phangan. Travelling to Koh Tao is easy, from Chumpon on the mainland or from Koh Phangan it is a trip of about ninety minutes by boat.
The island’s facilities are mostly focused on diving, snorkeling en other water sports as the conditions are very good. Diving sites like Red Rock, Hin Wong Pinnacle and Nang Yuan Pinnacle are one the world favorites among divers. Besides water sports it is worth to explore the island as well, there are temples, museums, bars and restaurants, shops and very nice beaches like Sairee Beach and Mae Haad.
