SOUTHWEST KOH PHANGANThe Southwest of Koh Phangan is a good choice for those who want to be near the action and nightlife while staying in a more quiet area. The main villages of the Southwest are the port town of Thong Sala and the two villages Ban Khai and Ban Tai. Good concrete roads make Ban Khai and Ban Tai easy accessible from Thong Sala and Haad Rin.
The Southwest has a long, unbroken stretch of beach with great views over Koh Samui. It starts at the foot of the southern Haad Rin hills and runs all the way up to main town Thong Sala. The beach is generally shallow and calm, which makes it also suitable for families.
