Chaloklum Koh Phangan

Chaloklum (or Chaloklam), which is only a 10 minutes drive from Thong Sala, is the island’s major fishing village and is located in the North West of Koh Phangan. The new, wide road between Thong Sala and Chaloklum makes it very easy to travel to and from this village. From Chaloklum it is possible to take a longtail boat to the beautiful Bottle Beach and the famous Thong Nai Pan coast (see North East). Chaloklum village might look small from first impression but surprisingly it has a lot to offer for passing by visitors: tasty Thai and western restaurants, numerous diving schools which are well known for their excellent reputation, a small market with clothing, music and jewellery stalls, live music events in the local bars and much more. A common attraction to do in Chaloklum village is the exciting Elephant Trekking. Spend your day viewing the island’s wonders on a back of a huge elephant! That is something you will surely remember. If you plan to stay there for a couple of nights, don’t miss out the vibrating “Paradise Waterfall” club. Located just outside the village, the place arranges some pumping parties which will keep you dancing all night long. The Sheesha Lounge Bar is a good place for a relaxing cocktail and chilled out atmosphere. On Wednesdays the Omega Bar organizes Jam Sessions, it’s worth it to pay them a visit!. Would you like to try Archery sometimes? The Bow and Arrow Club, just outside Chaloklum, is open every day and can provide you with equipment and training. For Italian food, grill, cocktails and more visit L’Oasi just outside Chaloklum. Besides the excellent food you can rent ATV bikes here to explore the area. Cafe Del Mar is located on right on the beach, it is a small bar where you can enjoy very tasty sandwiches, Western meals and Indian buffet on Fridays.
