Ban Khai on Koh Phangan (or Ban Kai), literally translated” camping village” is a small and very cosy village in the South West of Koh Phangan that still managed to keep its old and camping- like feel. Ban Khai village is only 5 kilometres from the well known Haad Rin full moon party beach and it is a neighbour to Ban Tai village. Both of the villages are quit similar to each other in their tranquil and super quiet feel. Ban Khai Resorts
Ban Khai Facilities, Bars and RestaurantsBan Khai beach is extremely popular with travelers for two main reasons: the variety of cheap accommodations in the area and the fact that it is so close to Haad Rin, where they can party, go out and enjoy the business. However, just because Ban Khai beach is small in size, it does not mean that the village has nothing to offer; while walking around in the area you will spot a few café’s with free internet, a couple of nice bars and some good traditional Thai restaurants that will gladly serve you with an English breakfast. Ban Khai beach is a very beautiful to sit and watch the sunset however swimming in the sea is not always possible as the water gets rather shallow often. Ban Khai has all you need like food shops, internet shops, bike rental, massage, bars and some restaurants. On Saturdays Anahata Lounge Bar organizes “Electronic Saturdays Parties” with Tech House, Minimal and Deep House in a very nice ambience. You can find Anahata on the road from Ban Khai to Haad rin on the right side. On the left side, before the big turn on this road, you can find Roger That bar and restaurant, a nice place where you can play pool and eat European and Thai dishes. Deeper into Ban Khai you can find Ban Khai Elephant Trekking, here you can enjoy an exciting elephant trip in the hills and jungle. If you like to have a nice long walk on the beach Ban Khai is perfect, passing the resorts you will find various “relaxed” beach bars and beach front restaurants on your way. |
